Grow & Arrange Cut Flowers with Sarah Raven & Arthur Parkinson

Sarah and Arthur are friends who have worked together for over ten years a share a love for growing and arranging seasonal cut flowers. This course will give you a firm grounding in all you need to know to get growing your own cut flowers alongside Arthurs arranging, and provide inspiration for how to bring the outside in.

Sarah loves being able to pick armfuls of flowers for a good nine months and in the morning will give you the hard facts on how to succeed with growing the very best and most productive plants. It's all about how to make the most of whatever space you have, little or large. After a short break in the morning Arthur will take over with a floristry demo, using flowers picked and conditioned at Perch Hill. He'll also cover flower conditioning techniques to make all your cut flowers last well in the vase.

Through the day we will also give you practical advice on seed sowing and propagation, soil conditioning, mulching, staking and all the most important things we have found to help us succeed with nine month round flower production. See all you've been taught come to life with a tour by the Perch Hill gardeners, with plenty of time to privately explore the garden.

• This course is taught by Sarah and Arthur with assistance from the Perch Hill gardening team.
• The first session is a lecture with slides format, the second a demo with Arthur and the third a practical with Arthur and the Perch Hill gardeners.
• You will also get a course hand-out covering the information we teach on the day.
• It is held at Sarah's home - Perch Hill Farm, Brightling, Robertsbridge, East Sussex TN32 5HP
• The day lasts from 10.30 until 4pm including tea/coffee on arrival, (from 10am for 10.30 prompt start) morning tea/coffee break and a 2 course lunch using recipes from Sarah's cookbooks (cordial, not wine served with lunch.
