Eucomis

With their statuesque spires and spectacular flowers there are few more magnificent bulbs for your summer and autumn garden than eucomis (or pineapple flower). They look almost as good in seed as they do in full flower and so hold their own in the garden for a good three month stretch. Perfect for planting at the front of the border, they also work brilliantly planted in pots and containers, where they make wonderful feature plants. The pots can be brought undercover in winter and will flower again the following year.
