We have now truly cracked the simplest way to grow gladioli. Plant them in with something (like dahlias) which you will mulch deeply through the winter, and these glads all become perennial, and truly get better year after year. As with foxgloves, I love their curves, arches and spires, always adding brilliant shapes to any combination. Here I've combined the richest crimsons and purples with the odd splash of lipstick red.
